As most of you probably know, I had an amazing experience with Mindy at Living Water getting lip filler and preventative Botox. I wanted to share my thoughts with you today and answer some of your questions!
There wasn’t a real crazy reason why I had them done, I had fairly normal to small lips, but my top lip was pretty uneven. That was my major concern and I just wanted them to be just a little bit fuller.
I knew before I got there that I didn’t want the full 1ml of filler. I only wanted a subtle enhancement and to even out my top lip. Mindy was amazing and let me start with what I was comfortable doing. It made the process stress free knowing she would go at my pace and make them look plump without anyone noticing I got filler.
Once .4 ml had been injected, she showed me and I was beyond happy with the size! She let me keep the rest of my syringe to use at my touch up appointment. It truly was an amazing experience!
What areas are Botox injections most commonly used on?
Deep forehead lines, smile creases, and lip lines are common spots where Botox is used. Personally I just got them in my forehead for preventative measures.
How safe are BOTOX and fillers?
Both treatments are FDA-approved and generally very low risk when performed by a skilled injector.
How Long Does It Take to See the Effects of Botox?
Botox injections can only take around 10 to 15 minutes, it will be three to four days before noticing any significant changes and up to 14 days to see the maximum results. ( I noticed mine on day 10)
When getting botox try to refrain from rubbing or touching it for 12 hours. Also, be sure not to lie down within the first hour after the procedure.
Did you start with a little filler and work your way up?
My first time getting filler, we went pretty light. I think everyone is pretty nervous about it and doesn’t want to look plastic (which, if done correctly, you won’t). I definitely wanted more the next time.

Does it hurt?
Fillers can be a bit more intense than botox. You apply numbing cream to the areas you will be injecting and let it sit for about 30 minutes. That helps a lot! My first time getting filler was pretty painful. but nothing I couldn’t handle. After Mindy was done there was no pain during recovery.
My first appointment getting filler I had bruised in a few places. I would just prepare for 1-2 days of swelling and make sure you have a great concealer on hand for any potential bruising. But honestly I. had almost no swelling and was beyond happy. The Kysse is designed for lips only and there is minimal swelling with it. If your lips do swell I promise this all goes down within a few days and you’ll love the way it looks.
